ok so I’ve changed my fair share of Prius second gen leaking abs like some of these 2010 and now some 2012-2015 Prius.

I have a V and Toyota dealer confirmed that the abs CSP just released does cover the Prius V at all. Pretty stupid because i have the exact issue and it’s only at 114k.

Anyways I’m having some issues trying to find out if the standard Prius ABS Accumlator (twin round cylinder thing) will interchange with the “Prius V” specifically 2012 located below the brake abs unit that goes to your brake pedal.

I can’t seem to get a straight answer. Previously with the gen2 I could interchange pretty much any of the years in the gen2 range but usually went for the later model to eliminate future problems.

Has anyone changed their Prius V Accumlator pump (twin cylinder thing) I’m trying to find out if the standard Prius unit will work or do I have to get specifically the “Prius V” one. Please see the attached picture for the unit I am referring to.

I still haven't done the install..... But will soon. And I think this will be valuable info for v owners.
If it doesn't work we will know. I got one off a 2012 prius 70,000 miles $90.00

Someone else posted in a different thread that it was the same. But I been waiting for a definite answer before purchasing. I’ve already replaced the regular Prius and just the pump assembly itself I think shud fit. Meaning the two round cylinder things you see.

Man I apologize. I been so busy with everything else like repairs for other people I haven’t even had a chance to jump on my own deals. Stupid question but Do you happen to have an accumulator off a Prius v? Because I have one off a regular Prius that I just replaced and have the customers busted one and we can try and compare ? Lol

So today I had to grab that accumulator we been stressing about. I got one from a 2013 Toyota Prius according to the owner and the papers. Best thing is it’s only 42k Miles. I only got the accumulator reason being is the previous owner replaced the other half thinking that was the issue. Not once but twice!

Anyways I shud have an answer on this tomo.
After Each one of you that wants the answer PayPal’s me $50 per answer.

    lol I kidd I Kidd.

yes it’s working. And it’s working great. My gas mileage has really shot up. Funny thing is I was getting battery issues. Actual replace hybrid battery code. But I never looked into the voltages or anything.
And now it’s gone. And confirmed that the battery is fine as well. Weird false positive but it does make sense though.

Not sure I understand how a brake accumulator could make that much difference especially on the health of the hv battery. Its not drawing much current, far less than headlights or ac. It is possible that cooler weather is making a difference especially for a car in a hot environment which degrades HV batteries faster. I would guess any battery issues may reappear especially if the 12v controls were disconnected for a period of time.

This new pump is barely running. It hasn’t hit even 50k and it just barely turns on. Maybe because it’s so new that it operates efficiently. Hell if I know.
Lol I do not know why I said my gas mileage really shot up.

I guess I meant to say with the pump operating correctly along with the battery that the mpg has shot back up to where it shud be.

why not do it at the same time? U will have to take off the master and all that anyways to get to the pump. So might as well do it at one shot.

the leaking accumulator does have a possibility to destroy the master too as the gases from the accumulator weaken or damage the master according to the Toyota documents for the recall/repair etc

You don't have to take the master off to change the accumulator
