If you lay bare the Toyota Prius, you find it is a good car that has been made great through technological enhancement.

Prius is roomy and comfortable for four people, as are most vehicles this size. A fifth person can squeeze into the middle rear position provided they're not too much over 4-5 and 80 lbs. The seatback folds down in a 60/40 split to allow the ability to take along longer cargo without leaving passengers at the curb.

Up front, there is plenty of foot space, and an open concept that makes the car seem wider than it really is. Still, there are plenty of storage cubicles to house items like cell phones, keys, change, etc. When not in use, they usually fold up or can be hidden way to bring back the feeling of openness.

The driving position is easily tailored, though the distance to the steering wheel means that knee room becomes a premium for long-legged people who like to sit closer to the wheel.

    I like this part:

"And if you do, you will be handsomely rewarded. The onboard economy calculator said we averaged 4.2 litres per 100 km of driving (about 53 percent city, 47 percent highway). That's 600 km (the usual vehicle range) for under $22 (at today's bargain $0.85-litre)."
