At the Prius TGB4 Meetup in Riverside, CA-Technical Session-David Lee presenting: Although some of us surmised or assumed some of the tips, it was a verification by the Toyota Product Technical speaker, of what Toyota actually teaches: PIP Confirmed that the available miles from a direct charge is the Prius best estimate and is based on the current driving pattern. PIP Learned the Prius can run on EV mode up to 62mph, however, that it is not as efficient as at lower speeds. Prius Verified the Prius can run on battery alone up to 42mph for low speed efficiency Prius Clarified that it is better not to ease into acceleration, but to accelerate normally up to a speed that is optimal to glide, then continue pulsing and gliding as possible. Confirmed the best driving Prius mpg can be obtained using the Pulse and Glide technique as much as possible. Would have liked to have heard more, but there were a lot of individual questions in the middle of this presentation. It would have been better to save the questions until the end.
