Prius Five 2012 fully loaded in Blizzard Pearl.

Issue: A/C keep changing mode from face/head only to feet every 2-3 minutes on its own.

*Auto button light is off and this continues.....

Any suggestions/instructions on how to resolve this problem? I've stumped all the dealers, no one has a fix.

This is why we recommend using "auto". Otherwise it will drive you crazy arguing with it.

I don't have that problem when I tell it to do face/feet or face only. I'd take it back to the dealer and have them fix/take a look at it.

If by "on its own" you mean when you open and close your vents, then yeah it's normal. That's the only time it changes for me.

Could the temperature have been set at a point that would have caused this? Mine will do that if I set the temp. to about what outside air temp. is. The inside gets cool enough quickly and then it thinks it needs to warm the inside air and it cycles like that.

If its not set to auto then the settings "should" stay where u put them at. If they are changing, take it back to the service department. Why mess with it when its still covered under warranty.

I vaguely remember setting changing by themselves when the car was new. I don't see it now. Not sure what was different then. Try different settings and report back.

Was actually a simple fix. I was hitting the wrong "mode" button (head to foot) which seems to have activated the automatic changes.

Auto light is off and since finding the correct mode change button to press...issue is solved.

Thanks for all your input guys!

That's the nice thing about owning a Prius.... you never stop learning what it will do. And I mean that in a good way!

Yes, that was it. I forgot the details as it was 2 years ago. Since that I learned not to use it. I prefer manual mode and fresh air. It's annoying enough to have to switch to fresh air every time AC button is pressed.
