Im at the dealership for a oil change and they discovered a wheel baring going bad. I wondered what that noise was when I was driving.
Im supprised that its happening at only 47000 miles.
Anyone else had baring issue on their Prius ?

47k is very low mileage to have a bad wheel bearing. I have seen other accounts of front bearings going bad, but IIRC those cars had about 2x the mileage of yours.

The title of this thread suggests wheel flashing. Does your Prius spend time outside of schools?

I'm wondering whether the OP had cause to drive through standing water. If not, then I agree that a bearing failure is unusual at that low odometer reading.

We had to replace ours at 53K. Toyota originally said there was nothing wrong when I said I heard it. (We all know our cars here) Took it to a tire store, they found it and offered to fix it under our extended warranty. Toyota said they needed to examine it again. Oh, I guess there is a problem. They fixed it and everything is peachy now. We're at 95K.
