Today, on my way to work, I saw this truck on the off ramp. Knowing where he was headed, after work I went to the Lexus of Carlsbad (Southern California, San Diego area), where I was able to take the rest of these photos with my iPhone4. The salesman, who seemed knowledgeable of the car told me the base price starts at $29,something, but you'll likely pay about $31K. The window sticker shows 43mpg city / 40mpg highway. The sticker on the silver car was $30,900 plus $875 shipping to equal $31,775. The white/pearl car, the image of the full sticker, was $38,102. The Environmental Performance sticker showed the Global Warming score is a 10/10, and the Smog score is an 8/10.

Wonder what the rearward visibility is like? Looks like it might even be more limited than the Prius! But pretty snazzy if you can afford it, the 8mpg hit might be worth the luxury upgrade!

Wonder if it has enough room for Enginer kit to fit.

I like the looks of the white one! Maybe in a few years when I'm ready to replace my 50MPG Prius...

I believe Lexus models has some of the nicest looking wheels on the planet. Not disappointed here either.

It's the Prius' bad little playboy cousin :D

btw, Lexus aired CT commercial during popular show last night (AI).

I happen to like cars that look like this (I took pretty hard look at Matrix couple years ago and Mazda3 hatchback 2 months ago). I'll have to only look. No more new cars for 10 years.

It's a cool car (I'll take a Silver one!) Lotta people just don't like the futuristic kinda alien (to them) look of the Prius and its unusual interior design.

I hope this car hooks a bunch into the hybrid family, get 'em jazzed about electric drive. That's the plan, get 'em started on some electric drive, then go from there (you know, PHV's, etc....).

I like it, very sharp, the dash looks real good. The Prius should have the dash like this.

I checked the maintenance schedule. It is pretty much the same as the Prius.

    • Oil change every 10k miles
    • Cabin and Engine air filter every 30k miles
    • Brake fluid every 30k miles (New for CT?)
    • Replace Engine Coolant at 100k miles then at 150k miles
    • Spark Plugs at 120k miles
    • Replace Inverter Coolant at 150k miles
    • Replace Smartkey battery every 15k miles (Ridiculous! but it is just $1 button cell)

HV battery warranty is 8 years / 100,000 miles. It is not AT-PZEV, just SULEV. There is no maintenance for lateral dampers. Overall, it is looks to be very low maintenance and probably DIY stuffs. Maybe Prius instructions may work for CT200h.

That for non-CA states? Should be PZEV in CA and the others with 10/150. I know epa had it under 'Elite' emissions for CA.

Spec said SULEV II unlike Prius that said AT-PZEV.

For a "sport" design and a Lexus, that is some huge wheel gap. But I still love it.

Sharp looking front end. Reminds me of my coupe.

Dealer near here doesn't have one available (online scheduling) for a test drive.

Except that it'll be priced as Lexus maintenance levels. I'm surprised it's not AT-PZEV. Why isn't there zero evaporative emissions? No space for a evaporative canister or something?

Dual front, yes. I don't think there's any in the back. Someone will have to double check on that.

Apparently it uses the Prius drive train, it's about the same size, weight is only 15 lbs more according to CR. So why is the mileage so much lower? higher CD perhaps?
