Event Description:
Lighten Up Your Ride is a clean car expo & rally hosted by Working Assets & the MMOB, and celebrating cutting edge transport for the climate!

Come see demo displays of plug-in hybrids, 100% electric cars, biodiesel and solar vans, with kids art activities and letter-writing actions as well. Enjoy music from DJ-On-A-Bike, shuttle in on the veggie-oil fueled van, or ride your bike to our Bike Valet!

Participating organizations include Union of Concerned Scientists, Rainforest Action Network, NRDC, VoteSolar, SF Bike Coalition, and many others. The event will take place adjacent to Sports Basement (610 Mason Street) --along The Presidio facing Chrissy Field.

Lighten Up Your Ride then invites all attendees to join the 2pm rally heading north up 101 to the GM Chevy/Hummer dealership in San Rafael. Our message to GM? Put the Plug In Hybrids - Pull the Plug on Hummers! With clean cars and a picket line of polar bears, we'll be encouraging GM to Hurry Hybrids/Hasta La Vista Hummers. (Polar Bear masks and "Hey Hummers: How Much Can a Polar Bear?" posters provided on site!)
