    Here's what you do:
    1) Click on your own - or someone else's profile link. I used yours, tag.
    2) Then, look at the URL and notice the section "u=nnnn" at the very end. tag's is 10 and that's really low.
    3) Highlight the numer and change it to "4000".

    (it wouldn't be any fun if I gave away the answer, now would it)

    By the way, if you want to know what your own number is, go to your own profile and look at the URL.

    Actually, I think there's something wrong with that methodology, Tony.

    Based upon the date I joined, my number should be lower than 10. Further, we have something like 4013 members right now but when I checked the newest member the ID (or "u=nnnn") turned out to be 4062.

    I don't claim to understand everything, but a thread about this topic came up when PC hit 3,000 users. At that time, we determined that Danny was #2 and Evan #3. It was tms13 who originally explained the technique. I can't speak for the difference in numbers.

    I think KMO is correct; 49 members have left.

    Once a registration occurs and a number assigned, that number is never released, even if the member leaves (forcibly or otherwise); that's the only way to account for the discrepancy.
