All cars with over 399,000+ miles, show us what you have. Add any repairs, replacements, photos, tips, tricks, lifetime mileage, or total cost per mile. Also, if you can include how and where you drive, and why, that would be great. (note: I only made it to 399,100 with my '06, so I couldn't start a 399,999 post - and be in it) For my July 2006 in service date, I made it to 399,100. Still averaging 50mpg, with a total cost per mile of 13.8 cents (not including insurance). Commuter car, 55mph on 2 lanes, 70-75mph freeway, and some stop-n-go. Mobil 1 oil, 70k miles between transaxle fluid changes, no regularly scheduled maintenance. Original batteries, brakes and shocks. Didn't change spark plugs until 355k (unnecessary). Foulded cat converter at 355k due to oil burn of 1 qt/1k miles for the last 45k miles. Just bought a Prius v Five.
It will be hard for 2004-2005 model year Prius to be in this thread because the odometer stops incrementing at 299,999 miles.
wow. i thought most of the second gen cars stopped at 299,999. were you able to get something to fix this and to keep it running? was it expensive?
Mainly just needed the extra 50% room. The oil consumption and catalytic converter plugging where motivating issues as well. Plus I got a v package #5, so a lot more goodies (and safety things) in the new/used Prius v.
