Just checking in. Sorry I don't get by here as often. I've not messed with my cars over the winter and now trying to get them all fired up again. Sold one this week.

So, this one hasn't been driven in 5-6 months. It fired right up with a new 12v, but threw a 3030 while idling. I cleared it and drove around the block a bit and the HV battery meter topped up quickly. Got in it today, and the battery meter was at one bar. Again, it topped up quickly, within a mile, but before two miles the triangle went off again. This time it gave me the 3006, but no 3030.

I read someone in the past suggest that when the car hasn't been driven in a long time, it'll throw codes, but if cleared then driven for ~50m, the battery would balance out and be fine. What do you think my chances are?

I ask, rather than just going for a long cruise to see, because I wonder what happens if it does have a bad problem. Do those codes cause it to not run quickly? Again, I've read of owners driving it with battery codes for several weeks. I don't want to die on the freeway, 30m from home. I felt it lose power for a split second driving it today.

Otherwise, I've read about the codes, maybe a broken wire, maybe a bad cell, a bad ECU? Any most likely suggestions, best order to check, etc.?

My experience is, when the the battery meter goes to full bars and the gas engine runs constantly without shutting off at stop signs, the car is attempting to rebalance the modules.

If a battery module is starting to fail the car can go into limp mode, but if you don't mind driving while the ICE is revving at high RPMs it'll get you home.

P3006 - Battery SOC (State of Charge) is uneven. This indicates that the highest voltage module of the HV battery was at a notably higher voltage than the lowest voltage module.

Of course, it is better to get all the information than just numbers.
There is a topic that this, in addition to the difference in voltages across modules, can have consequences from a bad auxiliary battery at 12V.
