I just bought some 303 Protectant for the dash and rubber interior parts of my new Prius.
I also picked up a bottle of 303 fabric guard to protect the upholstery.
When I got home, I searched the web and most reviews of the Fabric Guard recommend it for treating convertible tops and patio shades, so I am a little reluctant to put it on interior cloth upholstery.
Has anyone used this on their Prius?
Any recommendations of another product if this one isn't the best idea?

I used Scotch Guard on the fabric seats in my 2006 Prius and it worked great as well as lasting the 4 years until I sold it. It was like Rain-X for the fabric... Kids juice beaded on the cloth and wiped up easily. Stains also came right out and I have to think it was due to the scotch guard. Sorry but I cannot comment on the 303 fabric guard brand though...

    Paradox,

Can you give us some tips on how you applied the Scotch Guard? Did you cover up the plastic inside the car and then spray? Or did you just be very careful not to get any Scotch Guard on the plastic?

My 2006 was Scotch Guarded at the port, but my 2010 was not. (I'd rather do it myself and save a bundle of money)

    Thanks!
    Bryan

I did do it 4 years ago but honestly I was just careful... When I did the armrests on the doors I think I did grab an old dish towel and cover up the switches and stuff but that's about it. Any over spray I saw on some plastic i just wiped up with a towel as well. I don't remember but maybe I saw some of the overspray for a little while but if I did it had to be short because as you can see I don't remember it ever bothering me the rest of the time I owned the 2006 lol.

I saw it at the store the other day and all it looks like they did was update the can it comes in to a newer 'modern' looking can and write auto on it or something to sell it as 'made for car interiors'... I bought 2 cans and used about one and a half. Total, something like 12 bucks...

I Scotch Guarded mine the day I brought it home. I sprayed all the fuzzy surfaces like seats, head rests, door panels, arm rest, etc. I would recommend that you do it in a ventilated area because after doing the entire inside of the car I was pretty gassed. I was inside the garage and the door was open but there was not much air circulating. Like Paradox said, 1/2 can will do the whole vehicle.

PS, I also did my carpet and mats front and back.

I did mine last weekend with Scotchgard. Just get a couple old towels and cover the exposed plastic as you move around and spray. It's not hard. Used most of a can doing all the seats, console cover and the carpets. Need to do the door panels yet. I can see those getting quite grubby otherwise. I'm getting sheepskin seat covers for the whole vehicle, but in the meantime . . . .
