    Hello,

Three friends are Prius nuts, and I said I'd get one when they offered awd, so I drove an awd-e last night: nice.

I have almost new 215/55x16" bridgestone blizzak ws80 snows from my last car; will they fit on the Prius? They're only 0.4" larger in diameter.

    Thanks,

    Dave

Here's the complete comparison of the two tires...I'd say the snows would fit okay

I would put the old tires on craiglist, get some 195/65R15 snow tires for the prius. These rims are compatible:

Corolla steel rim, part no: 42611-02471 (2003-2008 corolla or matrix, CE, LS, S)
steel rim lug nuts, part no: 90942-01007 (plain, open-ended, galvanized)

I found the centre hubs rusted up quickly with the open rim centres, so cleaned them up and capped with 2" ABS end cap (available from Home Depot, Rona, etc). It's a slightly loose fit, but pushing on a rubber band snipped from an old bicycle inner tube, it's a snug fit and haven't lost any yet.

If you're in the lower mainland, where it's mostly bare roads and rain, Michelin X-Ice are good, run quiet and smooth.

You'd need new rims wouldn't you? - I'd have thought it'd be cheaper to just get a new set of tyres, and sell these if possible.
