I just tried one at the dealer. I'm only 5' 9" but I couldn't get in. Got my butt down in the seat without too much difficulty, but the roof rail was at my ear. I had to lean forward and duck my head to get in. I'm 67, not some tiny little teenage gymnast. I do love the car too, but it's no good if I can't get in it!

I had to go with a RAV4 Prime. I'll be dumping my 2014 Prius Three with 200,000 miles.

that's one of the reasons i didn't buy. plus i really wanted full ev, and the $11,000. incentives were too much to pass up.
after drive the bolt (small suv style) at 70, i really like the height and roominess.
mrs b just got a new hycam, but after the driving the bolt, wants a rav 4 prime.

I had a similar test drive, but the salesman was a little fellow and the seat wasn't cranked down. Even with the seat bottomed out, it takes some ducking to get into.

I've been a fan of small cars since I was a lad; they always take a bit of technique to get into and get comfortable.

I looked at the Corolla Cross and I get looking at the Rav4, but they weren't neat the way the Prius seems.

It wasn’t nearly as bad as your last test drive though.

we have a bz4x and love it, but we do lots of x-country stuff to backwaters where there is no electricity, so we need the gas also. we had a rav4 hybrid before and loved it, it's a great car. The plugin will be better.

I wasn't crazy about the souped-up engine; I hope it doesn't damage the drivetrain.

Doesn't every current Prius have the same engine?

Compared to my previous Gen 3 Prius, this Gen 5 is quite loud in a sporty sounding way.

You could get the old 1.8L in some trims in Japan.

I am pretty sure the current engine first appeared in the Camry and Rav4 hybrids. If there were problems, we'd know about them today.

I think they tuned the exhaust differently in the Gen 5. The Gen 3 was nearly silent.

I'm a year older and an inch taller than you, and i suspect the seat was adjusted to your salesperson's specs :). Yes, this is no SUV, but it's not a sports car either. Don't let your stiffening spine get the better of you.

I'm 6' and 230 lbs. It took a few adjustments, but I fit the drivers seat just fine.

hmmm, I didn't consider that the seat was raised. But thinking about it. it was a long drop down into it. It couldn't have been raised much.

long x-country drives with a spare tire and more useable storage area are other benefits to the RAV4. But in reality, the dealbreaker is the wifey hates prius. Since I'm not commuting anymore, it's more of a both of ours car than my commuter car.

I hear you. The Rav4 Hybrid is awesome, especially the plug-in. Hard for me to justify spending an extra
$ 10.000, however, when the Prius fits my needs with some compromises.

Well, perhaps if I can get a $3,000 dealer discount, the $4,500 lease cash, and a $24,000 trade-in on mine, I can barely afford to upgrade to a 2026 SE in 2026. :)
