2024 Lexus LM Luxury Minivan Teased, Debuts Next Week

About the only vehicle Lexus doesn't have in its lineup other than a truck, is a minivan (except in China). The 2024 Lexus LM will make its debut at the Auto Shanghai 2023 show. If you want to see a grill that can make the Cadillac Escalade feel inadequate, this is it. Like some orthodontist dream vehicle, its metal filled mouth will also show up in Europe for the first time. To assuage your fears, it will not be destined for the North American market. in China this particular model seats 4 and cost $200,000 The inside looks nothing like a minivan.

 

Its official, the Lexus LM will have an online presentation April 18th, 2023, 6:00AM CET for the European market.

Debuts as the Lexus LM 350h. Yep it has the venerable 2.5L HSD E-Four system seen in the RX 350h and NX 350h. They tweaked the output to give out the highest power of all NA 2.5L HSD at 184 kW (247 hp), 2 more hp than the Sienna. Hmmm, wonder what the 0 - 100 km/h is in this? Top speed is 190 km/h (118.1 mph).

So here's the rear seats for the 4 passenger version. Yes they can be completely horizontal.

Yes the rear passengers are looking at a 48" monitor.

But the driver is stuck with a paltry 14" multimedia screen.

Here is the more pedestrian 7-passenger version.

Could anything be more grating? Sorry I couldn't help myself. Have to admit they did tone it down a little from the 1st generation.

Shockingly this isn't as big as the Sienna and the Sequoia is slightly higher, but it doesn't have the Sequoia's 9.9 in (252 mm) of ground clearance.

According to the Spyder7 website, unlike the European LM, Japan will sell the 4-seat version as the LM 500h. This means it will have the same powertrain as the RX 500h, a 2.4L turbo, 6-speed tranny, motor and inverter, along with an eAxle for the rear. Japan will also sell a 6-seat version as well as the standard 7-seat version. I find it humorous the Japanese think LM stands for Luxury Minivan while the Europeans thinks it means Luxury Mover.
