My new prius was delivered with two missing parts in the exhaust system near the catalytic converter, the check engine light would not go out. After several weeks of diagnosis it is now “fixed”. Has anyone else experienced this?

our 24 hycam has a leaky windshield. i think they are trying to pump them out too fast to meet demand.

Why accept delivery on a defective vehicle with warning lights? Do you often spend over $40K on brand new broken stuff?

Dealer likely cleared the codes before letting the buyer get in it.

While that would make sense... I've seen way too many posts on here of people that drove their vehicle off the stealership lot after repairs even though there were warning lights on when the car started up. And while I understand that a customer might unwittingly do that, I have a hard time understanding why a repair technician at a Toyota Stealer would knowingly deliver a vehicle to the customer parking area and walk away from it with warning lights on.

There was no way to know it was broken until it rained, which wasn’t until 6 months after we took delivery.
And it was 35k, not that it matters

the worst thing is that they have it at the dealer, but they had to call in toyota. maybe they want to try to understand what happened at the factory, or make sure it wasn't in an accident or replacement windshield? idk. at least they gave me a loaner

What a bummer! I somehow missed hearing about your new car purchase or maybe I simply forgot. I’m still waiting for my Prius and now with the recall the wait will be even longer! At least you have a loaner.

That's cause Bisco is a federal asset working deep cover on PriusChat... He has to build trust by claiming he still owns a Prius so the enemy is more likely to divulge their secrets to him. He's very talented at his job, of course I'm not allowed to talk about the details of that.

    :p

I’m having trouble editing. System glitch I guess.

I was spying on my dream car…loving this color. Not as reliable as a Prius and expensive to repair. Comes with run flats which are certainly appealing but a big no due to mpg. Oh well…dream on.

I wasn’t aware of how heavy and fragile they are. Just googled. : } I guess that’s also why my test drive of a mini cooper felt so rough. To me it’s more of a visually appealing dream car but not practical for commuting.

Dasiy555 you can always get the paint code from the Mini and have a custom paint job. $5,000 and it could be yours.

IIRC, it's like those self repairing bike tires. There is a layer of goop behind the tread.
