Pretty exciting week here at PriusChat HQ. Thanks to the good folks at Toyota and DriveShop, I have a 2023 Prius Limited in the driveway as a press loaner. I'll try to keep this thread updated with my experiences and random thoughts and then later I'll finally have my full formal review out.

My first drive in it was up into the mountains of North Carolina to visit our oldest daughter at Scout camp. Loaded with 4 people, a cooler and some tailgate chairs, it was extremely impressive to see how effortless the new Prius' drivetrain handled that trip. Plus, 49.2 MPG. I admittedly haven't driven many long distances in cars with all of this newfangled driving assistance technology, but I was amazed at how little I had to touch the gas or brake pedals on the trip, and how much that made the trip far less tiring. Interstate, state highways, and country roads were all handled beautifully by the Prius.

If anyone is seeing this in Charlotte and has a previous gen Prius, I'd love to get together to do a quick video this week.

That's a testimony in & of itself, when even our supreme leader of Priuschat has to wait a ton of time to get in a Gen 5
    ;)

How tall were the people in back, and were they comfortable?

Would love to hear your perspective on getting in & out of the prius. I sat in one very briefly and felt it was very low to the ground and challenging to get in & out. Is it difficult to live with? Also, how old & tall were your passengers in the rear seats? Pics look like the backseat is pretty small compared to gen 4 & gen 3. Thank you.

I'm a heavy middle-aged woman and yes, it's a little more acrobatic than getting into my old Honda Fit. Once I'm in it though, it's fine. I'm ok with that. But I wouldn't want to do deliveries in one.

The rear occupants were my other 2 daughters, 7 & 9, one in a backless booster and one in a car seat. That said, they were both comfortable. My 7 year old daughter loved all the tech, especially the various camera views.

I'll get some adult occupants in the back later this week.

With regards to entry and exit, the first day of drives was kinda awkward. I'm mostly getting in and out of my wife's Odyssey, so it was weird getting down so low. But now that I've done it a half dozen times, I'm totally fine with it. I don't have to support myself or anything getting into it.

IMG_9582.jpeg I am enjoying my midnight, black, metallic limited! After owning a GEN 2 and GEN 3 I am convinced this is the best Prius to date!
As far as the safety sense 3.0 there’s a lot I don’t use! 42k out the door

    Hello Danny,

I live in Matthews. My wife and I are flying to Milford CT on Wednesday to take delivery of a Supersonic Red, 2023 XSE. Would love to share my experience so far. Selling my 2013 Prius Two with 95,723 miles. The new Prime will be our fourth Prius.
