I have a 2022 Suzuki Swace, which is a 1.8L Corolla Sport Touring twin and has the same drive train as the gen 4 Prius.

After driving from northern Sweden to Oslo in 60-75f temps, and using a full synthetic 0w-30 that meets VW 504/507 specs (only), and on tires that are up to 1psi below spec, I am averaging 58.8 mpg. Pretty happy with that!

I should note that I didn't notice a drop in MPG compared to the TGMO 0w-16 although I was not meticulous with my data. I assume there was a drop, it just wasn't noticeable based on daily/weekly observation and memory.

I think you guys would love the Corolla Sport Touring/ Suzuki Swace. It's a wagon after all.
Just thought I would share. Oh and the engine is much much quieter on this oil compared to TGMO 0w-16.

And yes, the owners manual specifically states a 5w-30 API SM (yes, SM) is allowable with 0w-16 being "reccomended" but not "required". The oil I put in more than meets an SN oil spec so I'm not concerned. I will switch to 0w-20 API SP-rc/Ilsac GS-6 for future changes though as a 30 is too far from design spec for my long term comfort.
