Ever since I hit rock in road and lost oil pan cover on undercarriage plastic my mpg have been slowly decreasing. I was around 54 before now reads at 52.8 with no indication will go back up to the 56 when first bought. Any suggestions on maintenance to improve mpg?

There is always a noticeable MPG reduction in cold weather and it will go back up as things warm up. One thing to try is to check your tire air pressure. It goes down in cold weather and that will reduce MPG. I always run my tires at a somewhat elevated PSI (42 front, 40 rear) to get a bit better MPG.
