2017s vs 2018s Max MPG display differences

    Those who have the 2017 Prime know the Max MPG that the display shows is 199.9.
    Apparently those who have the 2018, the software is changed, and will display... is it 999.9?

    Has anyone noticed any other difference between the 2017 and 2018 displays/softwares other than this?

    I'm also wondering if the 2017s could be updated to be able to display the higher number. I know if I ask at my local dealer, they'll just give me the stock "no" answer. I'm almost tempted to write Toyota a hard copy letter and officially ask.

    But I'm wondering if anyone has inquired already, or if anyone has noticed any other visible differences between the 2017s and 2018s as far as displays/software?

    I'd be interested in getting this answer as well, 199.9 gets me antsy...

    Is it all software change or did it involve hardware change? Can 2017 display anything other than "1" on the first number place?

    Of course if you are getting anything higher than 199.9, for all practical purpose you are running your car only on EV, then either 199.9 or 999.9 the differences are both infinity. LOL

    funny how pip went to 999.9, then prime started at 199.9, must have been one of those y2k issues.:cool:

    Purchased my 1018 Prius Prime Premium on Friday, Aug 17. My dealer delivered the car with either 0 or a hair above 0 charge, but I didn't know enough to check it. I drove it home from the dealer, and charged it after 7 PM (start of off-peak electric rate-I own the solar panels on my housel). I reset Trip A odometer to 0. Today, after 3 charges at home, and one at my son's house in Mesa (he owns a Leaf and has the fast charger), the current displays are: ODO 248 mi 43.3 mpg. Trip A 203.9 105.3 mpg, Trip B (never reset) 248.4 43.1 mpg. 403 miles to gas and 6.4 miles to charge.

    I conclude from these numbers that the car was driven 44.5 miles before I reset Trip A at home. The dealer gave me an odometer statement which said 43 miles. Before I purchased it, I called the sales guy and asked him to make sure it was charged, I wanted to test drive. He told me "we keep all the Primes charged." It was so different from my 2013 Prius 3, and I was naive, that I test drove it, problably less than 2 miles, thinking it was on battery, and it apparently, based on the above numbers, was not charged. I subsequently complained to the Customer Service person at the dealer, she said to the effect they don't deliver Primes charged because they don't have a charger

    Anyone else experience this? I could not identify ONE person at the dealer who was a Prius Prime expert! Don't get me wrong; I LOVE my Prius Prime. I am just very unhappy with the dealer.

    In EV, my MPG displays 999.9!
