    Hi Friends,

2017 Prius prime premium owner since the beginning. Great car!

I am having an issue with sound quality when speaking to someone via Bluetooth. The person receiving my call says that the sound quality is extremely low, and has a buzzing sound. I’ve never had this issue before in 7 years of ownership.

After some research, here is what I’ve done to rectify the issue:
-downloaded and installed latest software/firmware from Toyota website
-disconnected 12v battery for 30 minutes
-unpaired and deleted Bluetooth phone from car on multiple cell phones, same result.

Is there anything else I can try?

troubleshooting computers is always a pain. The order of the things you already tired might be one thing to do over in reverse order from how you listed the above. Checking that the firmware installed is actually the new version, because sometimes the updates don't actually complete. Which phones are you pairing and unpairing? Have you confirmed that the static during calls happens on all calls and on all paired phones?

It would be a shame to spent all your time and frustration on an issue with an iphone, samsumg or other model, when a different model of the paired phones doesn't have the same problem.

Have you tried other bluetooth functions while your phones are paired? Plus it could be the volume of either the incoming call inside your car or the volume of the outgoing signal your Prime is sending to the caller.
