The unveiling was a total snooze fest. No details about the car and no interior shots. What was the point? I wanted a new 2016 Prius and after this miserable unveiling I have changed my mind. My wife commented on how much the rear end of the new Prius looks like a GM Aztec! No thank you Toyota! Oh and fire your PR and marketing firm who wasted my night anxiously awaiting this lame unveiling. Thank God I didn't drive to Vegas for this event!

Wow what an intro only in Vegas could this be done.

Their marketing is perfect making you want more so you go to the dealer to look at it,feel it,touch it, and eventually purchase it.

Can't wait to see the specs on it great job Toyota

I don't understand how this is successful marketing. If I ever wanted to know something, the dealership is the last place I'd go. No dealer has ever been any help answering my questions, and I always know more about the cars on their lot than they do. They have only 1 job; to know the cars they sell, and they are consistently useless.

Also, why do they even have cars at the Stealership? If I'm going to buy a brand new car, it has got to be exactly the way I want it. No compromises of not having the right color, or the right gearbox (manual), the right technology... how they ever sell a single car is beyond me.

Hopefully Tesla's business model forces a change in the outdated Manufacturer/Dealership relationship.

well, not everyone feels that way i guess. i do agree they could know more, but we have access to so much info these days, it's not important. look, touch, drive, buy from the place with the best price.

GM Aztec, I have no idea how you see the Prius IV in the same light as the Aztec! o_O

Sometimes the dealer has pretty competitive prices. On one hand, if they know you need a car, they're, um, obnoxious. On the other hand, if you can wait it out, you can sometimes get new cars for less than what they're selling for used, assuming the car isn't super popular for some reason.

    Hello Redpoint5,

I would not go to the dealership for info because you are absolutely correct, they are typicall ignorant. Successfully marketing has nothing to do with going to the dealership. It is in my opinion, something that peaks your interest. If an individual is not interested then it was not successful. That's it period. Me personally I can't wait to get all the details about the new Prius and then the PIP.

That is from your point of view. They see it as two jobs and they do the other one well.

(the other job is to take your money)

    :)
