    Hi
I need 2 People to open up the hood of my 2016 Prius
My mechanic who is very good looked at it and can't figure it out.He told me to go to a body shop. One person has to pull the latch and the second person has to push down on the hood and then open it.
Is anybody else having this issue or any solutions.
    Thank you

The cable remote release may have come loose in the latch housing. Take a look inside the latch assembly there above the front bumper and have someone operate the release lever inside the car. You should see a full excursion of the release pawl and no play in the cable housing.

Thank you very much for the information.
I'll let the body shop know or bring back to my mechanic
I just replaced the front windshield.
Looks like a stress crack from it being towed
The battery died and I could not open the hood for them to jump the battery.
That was 540.00 and my deductible is 500.

    Thanks again

Me too! Upon inspection , its just a cable similar to a motor cycle/bycicle brake cable. Make sure it is aligned and in the proper grooves and tighten the disk right at the handle in the cab.

The body shop replaced the hood latch
It was rusted. The cable wire was fine.
It ran about 130.00 total which I thought was not bad.
Took about a week to get part and 30 minutes to install.
