Has anyone removed the steering wheel or the airbag on the 2016 gen 4 prius? Can you please show me how? I need to open it to replace the clock spring. Thank you

If no one has an experience or video to share, there is a procedure in the Repair Manual (more info), under Vehicle Interior: Supplemental Restraint Systems: Spiral Cable: Components.

The Repair Manual also has several pages of important warnings about how to avoid personal injury or property damage when working on the supplemental restraint system (SRS). Among these: disconnect the negative (–) terminal of the auxiliary (12 volt) battery and then wait at least 90 seconds before doing any work on the SRS wiring or parts, and when you’ve removed the horn button assembly, set it aside with the airbag deployment side facing up, so if the airbag were to fire, the assembly won’t become a missile.
