I have a 2015 Prius 3 with about 95K miles on it and recently the TCS, ABS, and Brake lights went on. I and a mechanic friend changed the rear rotor and brake pads, and did a flush of the brake fluid as well. After doing this, the C1391 went away and C1345 and C1368 showed up. We didn’t disconnect any batteries or fuses to the car when did the brake/rotor change and the flush.

When done, we went through the steps with the scanner as outlined in this thread to try to clear the codes…

Just replaced my brake actuator now have C1345 & C1368 | PriusChat

Suffice it to say, the relearning didn’t work. Looking at the some of the other threads with a similar code problem, people were replacing the pump assembly or the brake booster. For my car, the part number is 47070-47060. When I picked this up and was talking to the parts guy, I mentioned I was looking to replace the actuator and he said the part number above was only the pump. He most when the brake system starts to go with those error codes I mentioned, replace both the pump and the brake master cylinder assembly (part number 47050-47310), which is also about $695 (or about $$609 if I order the part online from Toyota for pickup at the dealership).

I am curious if what he is saying is true or not.

I found this video where the symptom of the 2010 prius is like mine, when I open the door, I hear the pump running for longer than expected.

I see the process he went through in the video and I’m almost leaning towards biting the bullet and returning the pump and just taking the car in for the dealer to service it.

I am curious if there is really a need to replace the pump (47070-47060) and the master cylinder (47050-47310) or just one of them.

I also found via a google or bing search using the following search terms "toyota 2015 prius tsb c1391" a link from the static.nhtsa.gov website (i can't post the link because I don't have enough posts here yet).

Does this mean if my vehicle's VIN is in the TIS, it's covered? My car was bought in December 2015 and it only has 95K miles on it.
