    Not much to see on the page yet, but it's a start.

    That's pretty good. It'll be interesting to see how it does in CR's tests.

    My big worry is that they couldn't even seem to get their older tech working properly for the long term (e.g. NiMH batteries, BMS, CVTs, etc.). That doesn't give me warm and fuzzy feelings about their brand new offerings w/totally new (to them) tech.

    They've had a bad run with IMA and its sales, but I'm sure Honda will come around eventually with hybrids. Hey, they're Honda, and they've built some mighty fine cars and motorcycles over the years.

    Can hardly wait to see this model come out **hopefully** in large enough numbers eventually to start competing with Camry Hybrid. I find the Accord interior more appealing than Camry which to me a little bland. I'll bet the Accord handles better too. The auto enthusiasts have usually enjoyed the way Accord drives, less so with Camry.

    American Honda rep told me the Accord hybrid or SHEV (sp?) due to be released 'first week of September' 2013.

    wonder what the S stands for and if it's limited release in select markets or what.

    Interesting they are going with a 2.0 L 4 cyl DI Atkinson for a pretty big car will probably weigh in about 3,500 lbs.

    Yeah, no kidding. If it's that high, sales will be puny.

    HyCam starts at ~$26K and Toyota's offering $750 incentive or 0% financing for 60 months in Nor Cal. FFH starts at ~$27K.

    They are probably referencing a top trim model around $34k. It's insane how tight lipped Honda is about upcoming models, but something tells me they are going to dip in very slowly with this Accord Hybrid.

    It says on the Japanese website: 6/20/2013, so, we will have more infos on June 20.

    And if this car is as smooth as the Camry Hybrid I tested with close to 50 mpg? umh.......... The new Accord is already well-liked!.

    Is that the LE or the XLE with 17's? I'm guessin' LE.

    When renting the LE hyb in January, 43.x was pretty common for me. It can do the MPGs and as said so many times, it chews up highway.

    xle, msrp 33k, has everything but the 7" screen, etc. interestingly, i checked the tyre pressure from the dealer and they had it at 40/42 r/f, spec is 35. i had it at 60mpg on the 9 mile ride home, but it's my wife's car.:p

    Same displacement as the Ford Fusion Hybrid. I'd expect it will have better real-world mileage because it'll have a lower curb weight than the Fusion. I'll be very interested to see how good their new hybrid system is, even though I'd avoid them because they simply failed to own up to the HCH battery problem.

    Isn't that figure 30 kilometers / litre?

    1 liter = 0.264172 gallon US
    1 kilometer = .621371 miles

    so # mi / gal = (30km/L) x (.621371 mi / 1 km) x ( 1 L / .264172) = 70. 6 mi / gallon ??

    Yes, but those test cycles are likely very inflated vs. US EPA results.

    Yes, your manual calculations are correct and concur w/Google as a unit converter. :)
    Google for: 30 km per litre in miles per us gallon
