I did, don’t think that’s the issue. Any other suggestions?
    Thx.

Big leak in the evap system. Do you smell gas in the back or at the engine? Visually inspect.

Not sure. I’ll drive it and try to see if I smell any gas.

Be sure the gas cap is clicked on. Next step is a shop with a lift to find the leak. Probably a vapor hose.

I actually replaced the gas cap which I got from Autozone and probably drove for about 80 miles in total or so, but the check engine light never turned off and I had the same two codes even after replacing the gas cap with a new one from Autozone.

Am I supposed to clear the codes? Or will it clear on its own?
Also do you think perhaps the gas cap from Autozone is not the exact fit so that’s why the codes remain?

    Thanks in advance.

i think you have to cycle the car (drive it) a certain amount of times to clear the codes.

autozone gas cap could be a problem, just depends on the design.

Do I need to clear the codes though? Or they’ll clear on their own after driving for awhile assuming the gas cap is the issue?

not sure if they will clear on their own. if the light goes off, see if they are still there.

So I probably drove 90-100 miles already with the new cap and no change or clear codes.

Yup, rjparker on this thread is suggesting the same thing. So I guess that can literally mean anything from the canister to the hoses, etc.

what code reader are you using? idk if tech stream and/or the service manual can help nail it down or not
