I have a 2015 Mustang that I bought new and dearly love, and my job change in January requires me to drive around 3000 miles per month. I didn't want to put all of those miles on my Mustang, so I went looking for a good used economy car for work. After looking everywhere within a 90 mile span, the Toyota dealership just a mile from my home placed a 2013 Prius C with 60k miles on their website. I went and test drove it and bought it on the spot. I am incredibly impressed with this little car. It came from one owner with an excellent service record, and I also went ahead and had the dealership change the transmission fluid this month as well. I am kind of nuts about maintaining my cars and I plan to drive this thing for as many years as I can.

A couple of questions - and I apologize if I am in the wrong area:
    • Mine came with the stock radio; where is the best place to look for the Entune system for this model (and what are everyone's thoughts in general about it)?
    • The circular rubber covering on the steering wheel buttons for volume up / down is kind of faded; is there a way to replace this?
    • I have seen differing information - what maintenance would I need at 70k miles?
    • Is there anything in particular with this model that I should look out for? I have not bought a used car with this many miles in many years.
Thanks in advance for any advice; I really can't get over how much I like this car...to the point that I can't imagine not having a hybrid in the future.

You state 2013 Prius C, but which C model do you have 1,2,3, or 4? This changes the answer for entune.

    • 1/2 had the base radio 3/4 had the screen with entune and HD/satellite radio.
    • I'm sure there is, probably just need to purchase a new button cover, but it may not be worth it. Hopefully someone else can chime in with how difficult this would be to replace. I believe the plastic side strips just snap off, so... it "could" be easier than I'm thinking.
    • 2013 Toyota Prius C Owners Manual and Warranty - Toyota Owners Scroll down to the bottom, it has the maintenance schedule. Looks like 70k is just oil, filter, and tire rotation.
    • Door lock actuators tend to go out, but I haven't heard of anything else consistent that is a point of failure. Make sure to keep the vent in the back seat clear of obstruction. A plastic bag clogging the vent can cause your mileage to drop quickly. Also, check it and clean it periodically. Other than that, I've got 97k miles on my 2012 and it's driving like a beast.
