I've been battling this Prius and the trouble codes it's throwing at me regularly. The most recent legitimate scan on tech stream gives me 3 codes that a line with the lights I'm seeing on the dash. I'm going to upload a picture of those codes so I don't make a mistake of which ones they are but also want to say first of all I have no dome lights I have no front windshield wipers I have no stereo. Every time I start the car I have to hold the key fob with a brand new battery right up against the button. I also have a brand new interstate battery in the back. When I shut the car off and forgets the time and anything I've set odometer clears itself not to do the start with the key fob up against the dashboard again. Fortunately when it's cool outside I can get pretty good gas mileage delivering pizza. In the past this time type of thing has happened and it's had the ABS light on and won't let me use the regenerative braking like it's supposed to and that kills gas mileage makes me want to get rid of the car which I'm going to pay off in about a month. It also needs a damper I think on the flywheel because you can hear it Knocking sometimes just in normal driving or when you put the car in the air and shake the wheels forward some backwards against each other it is a clacking sound I've got a refurbished battery for my Dr Prius in Northern Virginia if they can take care of me this one's been really good. A replaced both water pumps and the coolant EGR service PCV,clean my fan change the oil every 5,000. Recently I cleaned a lot of the connections in the fuse box area in different harnesses there and I replaced a lot of the original fuses because they look worn out. I found one of my relays coil was broken probably for me pulling on it with a pic after the plastic cover came off I stuck one in there out of my 2007 Ford F-150 no difference the same three codes. Thanks for any help for experience you can share.

C1231 is an issue communicating with the steering angle sensor, and B1650 and B1794 both pertain to the occupant classification system. None of those are codes I've seen often around here before to have any sense of "oh, that's usually such-and-such." Best bet is probably to look those codes up in the repair manual and follow the troubleshooting steps that are listed for them.

I've replaced all my fuses with new ones the original ones look like crap and one of my relays is messed up so now the car's back to normal I guess it was just bad fuses they're not conducting well I assume, never had to do this before, but haven't done anything else to the car and it's working fine now. Stole a relay from my Ford F-150 it's not the same type but it's working hopefully that's not what's causing my little light to be out the map light that Shines on the shifter. That's the only thing that's not working now and it was the other day. Also since I put the Ford's relay in the high beam relay spot the regular lights stay on when I put the high beams on now I can't remember if they did that or not before but if it didn't do it before it's a hack that people should know about because these headlights suck.

My first thought when fuses blow is “there may be a reason”. Maybe rodents?

On the other hand, if the fuse isn't blown but simply nonconductive because its contact blades are tarnished, just shine 'em up.

That was what stopped the windshield wipers cold in my 2010 three years ago. They've been fine since I shined up the fuse blades with an art eraser.

I have an art eraser stashed in the glove box now, with the spare fuses.
