Ill do my best to keep this short!

So i owned a 2012 prius c 3 (moonglow) for six months and fell in love. Unfortunately it got totaled a month ago.

So i flew all the way to chicago to buy a 2013 prius c 3 (also moonglow) and drove it back to virginia a couple days ago.

Short version...in the 2012 i consistently got 55+ city and 50-52hwy without trying at all.

In the 2013, so far ive been getting 46 city and 44hwy.

No change in driving habits, tire pressure good etc. Etc

Any ideas what this could cause this? I will still love this car, but, i just hope it can perform the way my 2012 did.

In case it matters the 2012 had 44k miles when it was wrecked. The 2013 has 23k miles.

    Thanks guys! First post here!

That is strange. Are you sure you don't include the mileage from your trip from Chicago to VA?
Have you also considered the winter weather you have so far which would've affected the mileage.

  4. So you drove a 2012 in the summer, but not the winter.
Getting fuel economy in the 40s sounds about right for your fuel economy in winter, even in VA, since it does get down to the freezing point there in the winter.
