    Good evening,
So long story short, yesterday got the dreaded "check hybrid system, pull over immediately" warning. Then pulled over and had it towed to Toyota (not knowing the aria) . Among other things they said the battery fan was completely clogged ($500) and the battery is "bad" ($3500). But the could not tell if it is one, or both that is the problem. Here is my questions,
    1. can the clogged fan cause the P0A80 code
    2. Will fixing that and resetting hurt anything if the battery is truly "bad"
    3. Thoughts?
    HERE is what I know,

    Code P0A80
No additional codes other than ABS codes that are related.
block 1 was consistent over 12.5 volts,
    block 2 over 13.5 volts,
block 3 (the weak one) dropped under 12 volts,
    block 4 over 12.5v,
    block 5 over 12.5,
    block 6 over 12.5, block
    7 over 13v,
    block 8 over 13.5,
    block 9 over 13.5 and
    block 10 over 13.5v

Its actually my young kids car 500 miles away from me, so needless to saw I am concerned for her safety

    Thanks you
    Tim

it may be possible that a clogged fan will cause an overheated battery and throw that code.

it may be possible that cleaning the fan will solve the problem.

it may be possible that most any mech will clean the fan for less than half of what they are asking
