Hi Guys, I have a 2012 Prius and only put 29000 mileage on it. Driving was fine till a couple of days ago, cold started the car the next day morning and saw all lights were on and car was not ready. Turned it off and waited for a couple of mins before turning it back on again, the same. After tried a couple of times the car was eventually turned on. Then the car was driving like normal for some days. Today, I was cold starting the car again from home and the problem came back. I have already scheduled a dealer visit but have concern if the car runs fine in the dealer given the problem is sporadic so they can't replicate the problem, then there will be no fix. Hope some one here can give me a clue what I am dealing with. Thank you for any input.
Another possibility is that the brake pedal sensor switch is intermittently not working properly. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
I'd second that it's running in accessory mode. What color is the light on your On switch when this happens?
The brake sensor switch sounds posible, also, I'd trickle chqrge the 12v battery overnight to see if it's possibly a weak or bad 12v battery, 6-7 years is a possibly used up battery.
