Ok so the other day my 2012 got a pretty nasty scrape on the rear bumper and quarter panel while it was parked. Took it into a body shop and they said I needed to replace the bumper entirely because it's bent out of shape. So I started thinking, if I need a new bumper anyway, why not get a fancy aftermarket one? And here we are now. These are the two body kits I've been looking at: Kenstyle: Kenstyle - Next Aero - Prius - Nengun Performance Duraflex: 2010-2015 Toyota Prius Duraflex TK-R Rear Bumper Cover 1 Piece So far I'm leaning towards the Duraflex one, but either way, I was wondering if anyone who has installed one of these can lend some advice. How good was the fitment? Was it worth it? Also I'm hearing a lot about needing to remove or cut some reinforcement bar, what's with that? Also just to make it clear I am NOT getting the front bumper or the wing or anything else, just the bumper.
Possibly in the future, if I do get the aftermarket bumper I'll definitely need to add them at some point to fit the look.
This thread is titled body kit, then said no front bumper desired or other stuff. Just bumper by itself.
I guess I was just asking about the quality of the body kits entirely. For now I'm only replacing the rear bumper but who knows I might add more in the future.
