I decided to buy an Android headunit for my 2010 with 232K. I intentionally bought one for JBL & Nav compatibility, and I have everything working but the backup camera.

The Android harness does not seem to include connections for the factory backup camera, which, according to this forum, is a 6V camera.

I just ran a backup camera for my son’s Pontiac Vibe (Toyota Matrix), so I can run the included camera if I have to, but I’d love to avoid all that work.

There have been a lot of discussions about backup cameras, but I fear this JBL/NAV setup is different enough that many of the discussions just don’t fit.

So, two questions about this process.

    1) Looking at the radio/plugs, which ones control the stock backup camera?

    2) What harness or harnesses are available that would allow me to connect the backup camera to a modern RCA backup plug in the Headunit?

    3) Or has the quality so improved since 2010 that it would be to my best benefit to do the work and run the cable, splicing into the rear tire light, regardless?

Thanks in advance for your assistance. IMG_8693.jpeg
