We have had our nice 2010 Prius V model for almost 2 years. Only a few times and only in one day could I gt over 50 mpg.
I delivered pizza awhile and a few nights where I was super busy I got about 55-60 for the night.
But by end of tank I'm at 45-47.

It's been that way since I had the car we hypermile we do all the things your supplied to do. We just move to owasso,ok last July thought maybe change of environment would help, nope.
So I don't know what to do. Someone mentioned to me the battery but it's hard to check on the gen III. Could that cause the bad mileage?
We just out new LRR tires on last year but still hasn't helped like I thought it would.

I have watched video after video of people showing off high mpg and how to do it. I do it all and doesn't make a difference. I have to try to get what I get. If I go a tank and don't pay attention don't hypermile don't really do nah thing special it will be closer to 39-40.

I'm so frustrated. Any ideas guys?

The 17 inch wheels on the level 5 are heavier than the 15 inch wheels. Also, the 17 inch tires have more rolling resistance than 15 inch tires.

Some people have been unfortunate to have taken a big hit in mpg after the last software update that protects the transistors in the IPM module in the inverter assembly.

fill out the 'why are my mpg's so poor' sticky. there are a million possible reasons, and a lot of questions to be answered. when you buy used, it gets even more complicated. the wheels are one issue as nh7o states above. the 12 volt battery in 2010's is always suspect.

    No two cars are identical.
    No two drivers are identical.
No two driving environments are identical.
    YOUR MILEAGE MAY VARY.

    Obsessive/compulsive is a disorder.
Chill. Enjoy. You are doing this to YOURSELF. Stop it.

If you do a lot of short trips, mid-40's MPG is to be expected.

So, OP has a 2010 Prius V, uppercase V as compared to the prius v lowercase v which is the Prius v wagon. This is why distinguishing and people learning V versus v is important. 2010 used uppercase Roman numerals for model designation.

    Prius v (lowercase) wagon
Prius V (for 2010) or Five (2011 on) trim level of Prius
No more uppercase Roman numerals are used, only uppercase for 2010. Then, prius v wagon which came out in 2012 uses a lowercase v for the wagon.

Ok working on questions but I did want to report this. We just did just over 200 mile round trip up hwy 75 from owasso, ok to neodesha, ks today avg about 65-70 and I got 59.7 CON.
This makes no sense as the Prius is supposed to go the other way great in town not as good on the hwy.

I do better on hwy driving too. Then again I use cc at 55 mph on my commute unless I'm running late..

I think conditions have to be right to get better mpg in the city as opposed to hwy. ie. spacing of traffic light, acceleration speeds, the amount of regen....p&g is key too. It kinda becomes natural if you get used to it.

A perfect scenario is prob no wind in a slight rolling hill country setting where you don't have to stop and use momentum aka gliding as much as possible using regen to keep you going..

don't try to tell your prius what it should be doing, it will tell you.

OCD is a disorder??? What?? What??

    Must. Must. Must.
    Get. Get. Get.
    Good. Better. Best.
    MPG. L/100Km. Mileage!

Seriously, does anyone offer "drive alongs" where a confirmed hyper-miler would drive with us mere mortals and show us what we're doing wrong?

The rest of us are not necessarily "doing anything wrong".
That kind of was my point.
