I changed my spark plugs due to a cold-start rough running engine and just put up a video on YouTube for those of you who my be interested. Removing the engine compartment panels can be found on videos posted by others on YouTube. I made the video after researching and seeing some of the problems/ questions other had regarding this job .

Uh oh. Ever cleaned your EGR cooler and intake manifold? How many miles on the car?

How long of a socket extension did you use? I have a lockable 6" extension that I want to use, but I don't know if it is long enough.

200K? You really need to bite the bullet and do the EGR / Intake manifold clean out.

    NutzAboutBolts has done it all:

The EGR system is the weakest point on these cars. Ignore it and you'll have the fun of dumping the car or replacing the head gasket.

I think you're good, but it's been a while. To be sure, pick up an additional 3". The latter's a very useful length, you'll need it for other applications.

If your spark plug socket has a rubber insert to grip the plug, tape the joints between extension(s) and socket. Particularly after torquing the new plug; there's a risk the socket will stay on the plug when you pull the extension out.
