Just got off the phone with the largest Volume dealer in the ChicagoLand area and was told that if you order a Model V, it is only NAV or AT, not both. I thought that if you order the V with AT it comes with the Navigation system. Can someone validate this?

Everything I've read agrees with you--the AT package includes nav. Yes, you can't order the nav package and the AT package (one is a subset of the other), so that's likely the dealer's confusion.

The salesperson was incorrect. The Advanced Technology package is bundled with Navigation. In the computer he saw a choice of NAV or AT. However, AT included NAV, so do not worry.

Additionally, outside of the Chicago region, you will be able to buy the Prius V without either of those packages. The Chicago regoin made a decision to offer the V with only one option or the other, and not Prius V base model. (This is the only Prius model that I agree with this choice, as if you would like to the toys of a Prius V, you probably want all of those as well.)

This dealer is telling all it's customers that it is either or and that for his customers who wanted fully loader models they would have to order one or the other. I actually went and configured the car and try to see on the spec if it does discribed when you order AT it would included NAV and no where on the latest system or Ebrocure would it actually stated that.

The build your own menu is misleading because in the AT option description does not include the NAV, but on brochure it is stated the AT include the NAV.

Additionally, if you look in the printed brochure (and I assume that online brochure is the same?), you will see that they show pictures of the V with AT with Nav in several photos.

Of course, because they're mutually exclusive. The reason is that the AT Package already includes the navigation package.

I think this is what leads to the confusion. You cannot order with both the Nav and the AT packages. What isn't clearly understood is that the AT package includes the Nav.

According to the Toyota USA options, you could get the Prius V, the V with Nav or the V with AT (including Nav). Region-by-Region variances will occur, but I don't believe you can purchase the AT without getting the Nav included.

It would be impossible to offer AT w/o NAV due to the MFD/Backup Camera requirement for Intelligent Park Assist. The MFD is provided exclusively by the NAV system in this generation.

Well, I guess that means in San Diego you can't get a Prius V without AT. When I go to build a Prius V it says the price is $32,010 and I can 't deselect the AT. I guess I have to get the Prius III instead...

Whether invidious, or ignorance, there's one So Cal dealer that's still telling customers if you want an '09 with NAV, Leather, & bluetooth, you have to get touring ... so this doesn't surprise me either. Just because they sell a product, doesn't mean they necessarily know stuff about it.

NAV IS Included with the ATC. At least it is here in Nashville, TN.

NAV is implicitly included in both of the Solar Roof and Advanced Tech packages. Because in some cases, only certain trims support certain packages, they've made it so you can only select one "option", hence the confusion. Once folks understand that NAV is included in the two "upper" options, it becomes much clearer.

For the record - Solar Moon Roof is explicitly excluded from Advanced Tech, and cannot be combined due to overall weight constraints.

You can try different zip codes until you find a region that offers just what you want. You then can ask your local dealer to try a trade with someone in that (or those) region(s).

Another option is to as someone like Jabber or JonLancaster to quote you a Prius V out of the Chicago region (where I believe you can get one without the AT).

I found out where the confusion was coming in from for dealers. On our original build book, customarily, the packages are arranged from lowest to highest. On the 1229 model, it shows the AT package, and then the NV under it. This would lead a lot of salespeople to think it doesn't include the Navi. Fortunately, I have you guys to set me straight :D

Thanks Priori. As a matter of fact, that is about the only way they build the 1229 in our region (Chicago) is with NV and no AT. At least the first batch was like that.

Sorry I didn't see this thread earlier Basspro. You have PM...

Does anybody know if there will be a way to buy the 17" rims aftermarket from Toyota? I don't need leather or the other items on the Prius V, but I do love the 17" rims.

You sure can. However, when you see the price, your great great great granfather will roll over in his grave. My guess would be that it is cheaper to buy the V with the wheels and get the extras, than to just buy the wheels. Off the top of my head, $1,500-$2,000. A sienna for example was almost $2,500 mounted and balanced. I'll know more once I see the parts listing.

Thats alot of money for those rims, might be better to just have them custom built with the same design, eh?
