Yikes, the price of batteries jumped up! I purchased an Optima battery about three years ago, and it died last weekend. At Pep Boys the Optima battery is now $230! But the Bosch battery is $190.

Pep Boys lists a $20 coupon code for the Bosch Battery, but I couldn't get it to work. No matter, I found a better 20% off coupon at Retailmenot.com

This brought the price down to $165, after taxes.

An additional $20 mail in rebate is available as well.

Anyhoo, a lot of people have mentioned that the hard plastic elbow on the vent hose from the optima and OEM does not fit the Bosch. This may seem obvious to everyone else, but it took me 20 minutes to figure out that the hard plastic elbow that fit the Optima can come out of the vent hose, leaving only the soft rubber hose. You can then fit the new hard plastic elbow attachment (should be near the negative terminal on the Bosch) and work it into the soft rubber vent hose, thus attaching the vent hose to the Bosch battery without any special tools.
