Hi there. My 2010 base model's low beams are not bright enough. I've replaced halogens, cleaned the oxidization, and put in LEDs in an attempt to fix it. I have a dealer appt tomorrow, as I know that this model has had a recall for the halogens often burning out too soon. I didn't have them do a fix at that point since I wasn't aware back then.

I did do multiple Dr.Prius tests to make sure it wasn't battery related, and I don't think it is.

Any thoughts on what I might be able to say to the Toyota techs to help them pinpoint? The lights do work, they are just not very bright.

My 2010 and 2013 lights are the only things that still work on those cars very bright AuxBram S1 series fanless bulbs in for 5 years minimum still blind ya aimed correctly. They're are harness issues with the gen3 known issue. If you get LEDs in these models fast enough many times the wiring harness hasn't had time to fail or what have you My two gen three's did not need wiring harnesses for the headlamps ever they're still there running as long as the 12 volts in place practically can't give this stuff away but it sounds like you may have the harness problem which could be robbing you of some power but usually LEDs will work down to like 7 volts maybe you'll get the recall done for the headlight wiring harness.

Yes, the low beam halogen bulbs are very dim on these cars, especially as the halogen bulb ages. I replaced my halogen bulbs with LEDs that I bought on Amazon. It made a very big difference. I am happy with the LEDs.

    What LEDs did you try?
