Hello gang longtime lurker just now signed up. I’m on my third gen 2 a 2008 with 270k. The other day I was driving home and hit something or something fell off the car and basically scraped down the whole drivers underside. well since then I have apparently developed a leak and or other problems. The car overheats, loses coolant, heat goes in and out. In the evenings the heat works fine but in the mornings it takes like 40 minutes and boom randomly at the same time it will come back in. I can see a puddle of coolant on the skid plate but it just seemed like it was coming out of the overflow. Overheat temp is 248° no higher than 251°. The 3 way valve next to the inverter sounds like it’s ducking air or not primed in essence. I only ask because I’ve been working 10’s so it’s dark when I get out of work and didn’t know if anyone has had the same issue and maybe could point me in the right direction!! Thanks ahead gang!!

You need to find and repair the coolant leak before you damage the engine and then have to search for #4.
If you had something bang around under the car, you may need to get under there and do a good inspection, including the radiator. You may even need to remove the plastic underpinning from the front of the car to get a good look. Hopefully you didn't crack/damage any engine or transaxle castings. In the meantime, you need to frequently check and fill the radiator. Sometimes one 'overheat' can be enough to end the life of the engine.

Intermittent cabin heat is a reliable sign of low engine coolant (radiator) level.

The first thing that I would do is make sure the drive belt is still on the water pump.
