2008 HID headlight help

If I was you I would change out the bulbs you just bought maybe you can return them and get the a l l a h i d to LED conversion kit it's I want to say $69 Google it or Amazon it it's right there I have it in my car let your people have it in their cars from this site whether they're still here or not I don't know mine are a couple years old you can put fog light bulbs to match all the nonsense It's the last stop and you're probably never touch them again You're probably trying to get out of the car already I don't know but that's the easiest thing to do and not get pulled over for the lights not being on because your ballasts are getting weak or something's failing obviously it must not be the bulbs you just replace those I wouldn't want to buy ballasts I would want to pull those bulbs out try to return them for whatever reason boom. And buy the kit mentioned above there's a few of them out there kids that is this one is one of the better ones and they stand behind their product I have one of the other brands that cost like $40 versus the 69 It's held up very well too this will allow you to keep your housings and everything to work as it did before you'll just have light now instead of nothing I know it's irritating

 

Alright for starters you can get the HID bulbs from RockAuto
The OEM Phillips bulb without the horrendous markup is PHILIPS D4R

Likely the ballasts are starting to go out finally it's Toyota part # 8110730D31

The older part #s 81107-30D30, 81107-47150

Lexus Only Part #-81107-53501, 8110733761

Non-Prius part # 8596706020--this fits Avalons and Venzas from 2008-2012-all trims

You can get them aftermarket but buy a reputable name brand not the 3 crappy ones listed on RockAuto at the moment.

 

Just get on Google or Amazon in Google D4S to LED and you'll see the bulbs that fit right in your existing housings and plug up to the same socket that's in your car right now even if your ballasts are failing usually there's enough volts going to the ballast to power the light that you just installed because the light you just installed doesn't require gas in the glass vessel to be excited to make the light It's just turning on a cob element The ballast in your car right now needs to generate a lot of power to excite the gas to make the bulb light You're only going to use a few volts the HID uses a lot more when the ballast fails it usually doesn't have enough volts too excite the gas and light the bulb but it's got enough to light the cob LEDs of the bulb you just installed.

And this thread links a website that I've used previously to purchase my bulbs. They are still going strong. Available in 2 packs, OEM color 4300k around $70. I had them in one of my 2008 for years prior to selling it. I also purchased the Philips OEM HID bulbs from Home Depot online for $51 each, 7 years ago and they are still going strong in my 2007 touring model.
