Alright so I was prowling around the Honda lot today to take a look at the new Accord (and it's pretty impressive to say the least).

However, what caught my eye was this particular Civic as I was leaving the lot.

It was 4-dr sedan and had the HCH alloy wheels and a rear spoiler. BUT it had black mirrors and black handles. I didn't have time to stop and check it out as I had to leave but this got me thinking.. is this in response to the Prius price drop?

My guess is that it was a DX or DX-G model with hybrid wheels and spoiler.

I tihnk it is too cause I just saw one yesterday.

Way to spoil the hybrid owner's pride by making a DX look like the hybrid.

Yes, they did that as part of their FE tuning (carried out in New Zealand) so that they could slip most of the civic line into the 6.5 l/100km category ($1000 ecoAuto feebate program).

Now that it's out, I can confirm that it's called the DX-A.. i.e. DX with A/C. HOWEVER, you lose power steering  in favour of A/C, those wheels and a rear spoiler.

DX-G is still your best bet.

And the Canadian lineup just got more confusing... DX, DX-G, DX-A, LX, LX-SR, EX-L, Si and Hybrid.
