With a new addition to our family, was thinking of trading in Prius for a 2016 or 2015 mini-van and so, I just looked up the 2007 Prius(Touring) KBB value and was surprised at low valuation.

Prius has about 167K miles on it.

    Trade in value = $2774
    Private party(very good) = $ 4264
    Private party(good) = $ 3715

Given these KBB estimates and am inclined to think mine would fall under (good) condition for resale - How much can I expect from a dealer if I trade in? has anyone traded their Prius lately?

    Thanks.

Kbb is not too far off for values.

No DEALER uses KBB values, NADA is THE pricing source your trade will be valued on.

Due to the low fuel prices and current new vehicle incentives, expect that even a dealer will sell many sedans for near the NADA trade value in this market, you are likely to be disappointed by what is offered for your car.

Now, if gas prices jump to $3+/gallon, the intrinsic value of all hybrid models will increase dramatically and older cars may even double.

They may use Nada but there isn't always a huge difference. Especially at such a low price range.

Agree that the low fuel prices are keeping Hybrid values down.

I just checked NADA values as well - a little on the higher end but not sure if mine fits into the definition of "Clean Trade-in" or "Clean Retail"

Looks like the trade-in value is about $3500(best scenario) at a Dealer since we were looking to buy a 2015 pre-owned or 2016 year-end sale model for trade-in.
