What is the USA EMV on the navigation system?

so basically our Touring model is similar to the Japanese one where you get the Type B spoiler and the 16" alloys.

Hmm.. I can't remember. The EMV thing is on the Japanese site if you translate it. Might be auto dimming mirror or sth.

Yeah, not sure on the EMV code. Couldn't find an answer in any of the papers I have either.

OOooh, unless 2008 has something really special in store, the Touring #5 has my name written all over it. Dont need/want leather out here in Phoenix.

Wonder what the 16's do for MPG though - I know it's been debated in the past - but now we'll have a real chance at finding out.

Also - does the larger spoiler do anything beneficial beyond asthetics? And does the rear disc brake option actually improve stoping distance?

I Googled the term "Toyota USA EMV" and came up with only one valid hit, what appears to be an order form for an State of Iowa contract for the 2006 Prius. http://das.gse.iowa.gov/Vehicles06/Hybrid%...ricesToyDSM.pdf So, whatever exactly it is, it's already in the 2006 Prius, not something new for 2007.

So basically, my 2006 Package #6 is equivalent to the 2007 Package #4.

Nothing else they're adding for 2007 excites me. Glad I jumped when I did.

The touring package sounds really nice, but there's no way I'm passing up the full tax credit of $3,150 to wait for it.

    Electric Motor Vehicle?

Perhaps it means that the EV mode will be enabled on all USA cars now without modding.

Seriously doubtful on both counts. It is clearly part and parcel of or directly associated with the Navigation system and is already part of the 2006 model.

I'll take a wild guess that it's the Voice Command system in USA English, but I still don't know what the EMV acronynm stands for exactly. "USA English Modulated Voice"?

You're a great source of information, gtn. Clearly you're actually interested in what you sell! Do you know if the new Priuses will finally have seat-height adjustment and tilt/telescope steering wheel? It seems such a glaring oversight not to add those things.

From another thread (Japanese version of CANView), EMV is the Japanese equivalent of MFD.

Does it say anything about the air bag features......do all packages finally have the curtain airbags as a standard???? I think it should already be a standard option on all packages.

Anyone have pics that will clue us in as to how this Prius touring edition will look?

The first paragraph of the original post says all airbags are standard equipment in 2007.

Those changes will not appear until the 2008(possibly 2009USA) model Prius(if they do ever happen). The 2007 Prius is a 2006 carry over with new numeric option packages, standard side and side curtain SRS, and the addition of the touring package for the USA which has been available in Japan and Europe since 2004.

I was hoping that with the Touring Edition that Toyota would finally introduce some kind of factory-installed moonroof/sunroof, something that looked like it belonged with the car.

I was also hoping that the Japanese blue (shown in the pics linked to by the above comment) would also become available in the USA...
