2007 Prius Catalytic Converter (WA) Replacement Sounds Strange

    Cat converter stolen - replaced with moderate aftermarket part by very reliable mechanic - upon getting car back I can hear a faint noise similar to the sound of a vehicle in high gear. Is this a vibration I am hearing from the replaced parts? I also had a CAT Shield installed at the same time. Has anyone else noticed new noises with a replacement catalytic converter? I am told there is a "break-in" period which I do not understand either.

    Likely the cat shield, not sure about the break in period, unless it was related to an odor issue.
