Are these still available from Toyota? I'm not keen on taking my chances on Ebay. Anyone know of a reputable place to get a new or quality refurb?

look for eBay sellers that will provide returns (you have to pay shipping in most cases)
since you're closer to Kansas City, try Midway Auto Parts

A 15 year old Prius needing parts, with rare exception doesn't need brand new, just similar age as car. There's plenty of wrecking yards that allow you to pull the MFD yourself, which is good practice for putting it in your car.

Just make sure you get the correct one depending on how many features / MFD buttons your car has.

I buy these things at LKQ for 20 bucks every time I see the '07 to 9 or late 06 up I grabbed the MFD and multiple other things out of the inside of the car the minute I see it I used to have them stacked up back here I've stopped picking up lots of this stuff because everybody said they wanted it and now I have tons of it and nobody anyway no biggie so they're around they pop up all the time if you see one that's really delaminated really bad it's just one that sat in the sun in the same parking spot by an ignorant owner that couldn't do better so you skip that over and don't touch it you take your little plastic cell phone pry apart tools or splooges and you can reach up into the plastic without even taking it loose to see if the Mylars peeling off the screen I don't even fool with those down here in the south where I'm I can find gin twos with 90,000 mi on them with some scrapes where they got sideswiped or something really stupid and the interiors are many of them are beautiful. That's why I say if you're looking one of these Alabama and Florida wherever retirees are big turnover
