2007 Gen 2 Bladder has +1gal more capacity at sea level

    Hi folks... I had to relocate from Boulder Colorado to Orlando Florida for work this year and I drove my 2007 Prius to Florida for transportation. I was shocked when I went to fill up the gas tank(bladder) and was able to get 10.2 gallons into the car. I had never gotten over 9.1 gallons into the car before. I thought that maybe the pump was rigged, but subsequent fill-ups definitely indicate that my car can hold more gas at lower altitudes.

    Mr Science, please explain!

    I suspect it is warmer in Orlando than in Boulder, and the bladder is more flexible when warm.

    Here in MS, summer vs winter made a large difference in my Gen 2. Even first thing in the morning vs heat of the day made some difference.
