A couple of days ago, I was about to take a long road trip. Stopped to top off gas tank (yes, I squeezed the handle a few more times than I probably should have). Restarted and drove about 300 feet. Master Warning light, check engine light, brake light and pretty car with ! in the display all came on. Drove home - car ran fine but the hybrid battery seemed to stay full, switched cars, got home the next afternoon, started car again -- all lights still on. Checked gas cap (just in case), brake fluid is between full and low, coolant is probably a little low.

Has anyone else had this happen? Does this mean my hybrid battery is dying? Is it okay to drive the car 10+ miles to the dealership?

The auxillary battery was changed this summer.

    Thanks for any help!

My guess is the 12v. Check to see if it is putting out over 12v. Sounds like a week 12v H

I had the 12V replaced this summer. I just checked it and its at 12.3v. I also got a list of service codes but have no idea what they mean. Is there a list somewhere? Mine are:
    DC 190 1A 3
    D8 190 17 1
    D5 190 39 B
    DB 190 E3 F
    DB 110 A8 7

I believe those codes are from the MFD relate to the navigation system.

Yeah, I guess they don't really mean anything since I don't have a navigation system.

Headed to the dealership first thing in the morning. Hoping the hybrid battery isn't dying.

Hybrid battery is toast. Dealership says all cells show low.

If you can get the dealer to give you the specific DTC (diagnostic trouble codes) and post on here we will be better able to help you.

Yes, please answer. OP, also please do tell us the codes (DTCs).

OP made another post that said Houston, so I assume TX. In TX, the HV battery should be warranted for 8 years/100k miles, just like most of the rest of the US.

I am in Texas. The car has 140,000 miles on it, so it's out of warranty. I don't remember what the codes were, but the service advisor (who I trust, just BTW), said the codes indicated cell 7 was low and the other cells around 7 weren't reading much higher. I think he said 10 of the 28 cells were reading close to the bad cell (cell 7). I kinda tuned out after he gave me the $3,950 replacement cost.
