Sorry for the double post, I posted this in a different forum but then thought this might be the better one.

I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post in but I'm looking for some advice on a used Prius purchase. I'm looking at a 2006 Prius, black, 85-86k miles, says it's fully loaded with everything but leather. The posting price is 12,900 which is too high. I looked up the KBB private party (12,000 for very good, 11,700 for good) and trade in value (10k for very good, 9500 for good) and the Edmunds TMV which is about 10,800.

Anyone have an idea on what a fair offering price would be assuming its between good and very good condition? I was thinking I would offer $10,500 - $10,800 but I'm always hesitant to ask too far below the listing price...

Thanks in advance! I'm switching from a 2006 xterra and looking forward to the vastly better mpg!

I just paid $13k for my 2007 Level 5 (everything but leather) with 50,000 miles, brand new tires and another spare set of brand new winter tires.

Your offer of $10k is a good start!

I'd say that around 10 would be what its worth from what I've seen lately, this is providing it is clean and nice. The low miles will help it, even though the older gen 2's are starting to drop. You will love one when you get it.

If it doesn't have leather then it is NOT fully loaded. Nat, does the car have fog lights, HID headlights & a nav unit?

Thanks everyone! I took a look at it last night and he wouldn't really budge from the 12,900. He said he'd only go to 12,500. I'm on my way to buy a 2005 with nav / bluetooth, etc and 110k miles this afternoon. I looked at it on Wednesday but wanted to see what this guy would do on the '06 with less miles. Paying $8,000 for it, so it looks like a pretty good deal.
