I just got a 2006 Prius and realized it has the most basic stock radio without AUX or BT. What is the easiest/cheapest way to add either aux or bt function? Aftermarket radio? Upgrade stock radio? Or just add some adapter? Thank you and I apologize if this has been answered before. I've been searching for days and couldn't find anything conclusive.
It looks like those adapters plug into the cd changer port, but my radio doesn't have a button for cd changer. It's the most basic one. It's like this:
I think there is an extra connector on the back of your headunit for an optional cd changer which mounted just below the headunit. that's where you'd plug in. really your better off replacing the whole headunit, cause that unit sucks anyway. but it will cost alot more than the grom.
With this unit, you can bluetooth your music from your phone to your car speakers through text radio station 87.9 Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
I have the 2004 base model, got a Toyota Bluetooth adapter from ebay, plugged it into the back of the radio and discovered that the Disc button now thinks I have a cd changer and I can use either Bluetooth or aux input (I'm not using the phone features). My only complaint is that there is no music info on the display. !B7Yh13!EGk~$(KGrHqMOKjcEycdM8Hz+BM0CfzDvFQ~~-1_35 by ITBland posted Jul 4, 2017 at 1:26 PM
