Fair enough, but I find them attractive enough... plus they give emergency personnel an extra chance to see that the car is a hybrid before they cut into it if (God forbid) I am in a major accident.
On the same note, I think I'd like a HEMI badge for the side of Priapus. [Broken External Image]:http://www.edmunds.com/media/2002/sema/dodge.ram.hemi.bdg.500.jpg
My father was a fireman, and I have several more family members that are firefighters / highway patrol officers. Most would recognize that a Prius is a hybrid, but I'd hate for one to accidentally get zapped when using the jaws of life or the metal saw...
if the car is smashed bad enough to require the JOL the airbags are gone off and the system is shut down. The only way to cut thru the HV wiring is if the car is on it's roof and they decide to cut the floor out of it to extract the seat thru the top. Only thing to cut when it's upright is the Side Curtin Air Bags and most EMR people are well versed in those.
Hopefully you are correct. Given the cheap cost of a couple of fender badges, I'll err on the side of safety. Perhaps my caution is borne of my family members involved in rescue operations, meaning that I am overly sensitive to the issue... but I'll still stick them on.
